3 Pages You Need to Legally Protect Your Blog
Are you considering starting a new blog but have no idea where to start? There are TONS of opinions out there on the internet and a lot of them have conflicting information. Before starting my blog, I did a lot of research and learned helpful tips from many different experienced bloggers along the way. However, the most important information that I learned is how you can legally protect yourself and your blog.

If you are in the beginning stages of setting up your blog, the words “legally protect” might sound daunting. Don’t give up yet! I’ll show you how in just a few simple steps you can legally protect your new blog. The best part is you can complete this step in less than 30 minutes! Later in this post, I will share my review of A Self Guru’s legal bundles that make this process simple.

Before we get too far into this post about protecting your blog. I want to say that I am definitely not a lawyer and am not offering any type of legal advice. If you have legal questions or concerns, it is always best to contact a legal professional. Please see my Disclaimer page for complete details.
What Pages Do I Need to Legally Protect My Blog?
There are 3 important pages that you need to include on your website in order to legally protect your blog.
- Privacy Policy
- This is a mandatory legal statement that lets visitors to your site know what information you are collecting about them and how you are using their personal information. This is REQUIRED by law to disclose.
- Disclaimer
- This page is there to protect you from someone suing you after visiting your website and suffering a negative outcome after taking your advice or from an affiliate product that you recommended etc.
- Terms and Conditions
- These are the rules and regulations that you have for your website and the visitors that come to it. It helps protect you legally by protecting your website from copyright infringement from others stealing your content. It allows you to write out your terms that each user to your website must abide by.
Can’t I Just Make Up My Own Legal Pages?
Instead of paying a lawyer to write up these pages for me, can’t I just make my own? No, I definitely don’t recommend this! Unless you are a legal professional, you probably don’t keep up with the latest changes and legal terms that you need to keep yourself from getting sued. Can I just copy someone else’s pages? This would be considered copyright infringement and could get you into legal trouble. You already have enough on your to-do list for starting your blog. Don’t make this part harder than it has to be!
Is There an Easy Way to Protect My Blog with these Pages?
The good news is that it is super easy to add these mandatory legal pages to your new site! Amira from A Self Guru makes the whole process a breeze. She is a lawyer who specializes in legal pages for websites, including the 3 required ones above. I personally used her services for creating the legal pages for Our Adventures in Parenthood blog.
There are several different bundles to choose from depending on the needs of your website. I started out with the Starter Legal Bundle, which at the time of this writing includes the 3 required templates (privacy policy, disclaimer, and terms and conditions) along with 9 bonus templates! If your website is more advanced and you need more templates, you probably want to consider one of the bigger bundles, such as the Premium or VIP Legal Bundles.
If you do not need an entire “bundle” of legal templates, you can purchase any of her templates by themselves. She has a variety of templates to meet your needs such as Sweepstakes, Sponsored Posts Contract, Affiliate Agreement and so much more!
How Easy Was It to Set Up Your Legal Pages?
After purchase, I was immediately emailed my account information and log in information. I was in my account within 5 minutes and was able to immediately start personalizing my templates for my website. She makes to so easy that almost anyone can do this! All you have to do is fill in the highlighted areas in each template (see picture below). She even explains what to insert into each highlighted area. Afterwards, all you need to do is copy and paste the template into your page you created on your blog or website.
I was done with personalizing my templates and adding them to my website within 30 minutes! This might just be the easiest part of starting your blog! When checking out, I received a special offer to purchase her ADA & WCAG Compliance Bundle. I purchased this and was easily able to add my accessibility statement to my website.
You Can Earn Your Money Back!
If you are willing to do a little work and promote Amira’s templates through her Affiliate Program, you can earn your money back for purchasing the templates. (There is no purchase required in order to join her affiliate program and results depend on your work, traffic statistics etc.) She shows you how to easily set up your affiliate account and start earning money right away! She offers an unheard-of affiliate commission of 40%!

I had no idea where to start with how to legally protect myself and my blog when first starting out. I thought it would be this daunting task that would take me hours and hours to complete. After using these templates, I 100% recommend A Self Guru’s legal bundles to make this process easier on you!
